Dosage Form and Strength
Survanta 25mg/ml (Beractant Intratracheal Suspension) Injection is an off-white to light brown sterile suspension supplied in 200mg/8ml single dose glass vial.
Each mL contains 25 mg of phospholipids suspended in 0.9% sodium chloride solution.
Mechanism of Action
Mimics the surface-tension lowering properties of natural lung surfactant by reducing alveolar surface tension during respiration and stabilizing alveoli against collapse at resting transpulmonary pressures.
Administration
- 8ml single-dose sterile suspension vial.
- Administer via endotracheopulmonary route only.
- Do not self-medicate.
- Use under medical supervision only.
Therapeutic Use
- Prevention and treatment (“rescue”) of Respiratory Distress Syndrome (RDS) in premature infants.
Usage Instructions
