Dosage Form and Strength
Renvela 800mg (Sevelamer) Tablet is a film-coated tablet.
Each film-coated tablet contains Sevelamer Carbonate 800mg.
Mechanism of Action
It works by preventing hyperphosphatemia by binding to dietary phosphate in the gut, thereby preventing its absorption. This reduces serum phosphate levels and controls parathyroid hormone levels in patients with chronic kidney disease.
Administration
- Oral use only.
- Should be taken with meals.
- Do not self-medicate.
- Take as directed by a Nephrologist.
Therapeutic Use
- Treatment of high phosphorus levels in blood.
- Used in chronic kidney disease (CKD) patients on hemodialysis.
