Product Description
Dosage form and Strength of Adcetris (Brentuximab Vedotin) for Injection:
It is Injection form. Each vial contains 50 mg of Brentuximab Vedotin as a sterile, white to off-white lyophilized, preservative-free cake or powder in a single-dose vial for reconstitution.
Mechanism of Action:
It attaches to CD30 positive cancer cells in a targeted way and delivers vedotin to kill them.
Administration:
It is administered as an Intravenous Infusion only. Reconstitution and dilution required. Single use vial. Discard unused portion.
Therapeutic Use:
It is a prescription medicine directed against the CD30 protein. It is used to treat Adults with previously untreated Stage 3 or 4 classical Hodgkin lymphoma, in combination with chemotherapy. It is also used to treat Children 2 years of age and older with previously untreated high risk classical Hodgkin lymphoma, in combination with chemotherapy. It is used in treating adults with systemic anaplastic large cell lymphoma.
Usage Instructions:
For Intravenous use only. Single use vial. Discard unused portion. Do not self-medicate. To be administered by medical supervision only.
Side Effects:
Difficulty in breathing, Fever, Red or purple skin rash, Dizziness, Nausea, Vomiting, Diarrhoea, Muscle pain, Hair loss, Weight loss, Upper stomach pain, Constipation, Decrease in platelet, Nerve damage.
Safety Precautions
Alcohol: Study not known; consult doctor for personalized advice.
Pregnancy: Unsafe during pregnancy; may harm unborn baby. Use only if benefit outweighs risk.
Lactating Mothers: Unsafe during breastfeeding; do not breastfeed during treatment.
Driving: May affect ability to drive; avoid driving after taking the medication.
Renal Impairment: Unsafe in severe renal impairment; consult doctor.
Hepatic Impairment: Unsafe in severe hepatic impairment; consult doctor.
Contraindications: Known hypersensitivity. Use with bleomycin causes pulmonary toxicity. Do not take this Injection if you are receiving Bleomycin.
